Rhonda Morrison

I was born in Shawville but left at age 8 and returned for good at age 24. I have been a life long volunteer from cleaning the brushes for the art teacher to Boy Scouts Treasurer to being on the WQLC Board of Directors (with many others in between). I believe in helping the community and I do this as a career too, having worked in Community Development for the past 23 years at CEDEC. Entrepreneurs are the backbone of our small communities’ economies and supporting them is essential!

Located in Mansfield-et-Pontefract, this cooperative aims to ensure, in a spirit of cooperative relations, a harmonious and sustainable tourism development that promotes the Pontiac and more particularly the Davidson forest, a sometimes unknown jewel of our region.

This cooperative was introduced as a university project, in 2018, by Guillaume Lavoie Harvey, then a student in kinesiology and physical education at Laurentian University in Sudbury. This co-op project was quickly deployed on the creation of a startup and that is when the father, Louis Harvey, joined the adventure.

I began my career working in the engineering industry after completing my studies at École de Technologie Supérieure in Montreal. Since then, I have returned to the Pontiac in 2011 to work in the family business. I have been able to help grow the business and adapt to the changing needs of clients. After re-building the Mansfield store in 2015 following a massive fire, I moved myself and my family to the Pontiac after a few years of traveling. Since then, I have been proud to call this home and play a role in the development and prosperity of our region!
